SOSM created a social marketing campaign for
Tarrant County Public Health to better prepare the public for a
public health emergency. SOSM facilitated focus groups to understand
the public’s awareness level of personal preparedness; identified
community stakeholders; developed cooperative partnerships for each
county’s public health department within its respective community to
enhance the scope of related programs, activities, and messages;
identified distribution channels to reach special populations, such
as homeless, non-English-speaking, homebound, hearing-impaired, and
visually impaired individuals; and developed a Metroplex Public
Health Joint Information Center operations plan to set forth how
each county would deliver messages during a public health emergency.
In addition to the partnerships and
communication plan it developed, SOSM created a slogan, visual and
audio public service announcements, a brochure, a logo, and a
website template.
