Ohio-HIV/AIDS Radio Campaign
As part on an on-going campaign
with the Ohio Department of Health HIV Care Services Section to raise HIV
awareness, SOSM created an outreach partnership with Radio One in
Cincinnati. Radio One owns three radio stations targeted to African
Americans and has a significant talk radio presence in the area. SOSM
launched a direct mail campaign in targeted zip codes to drive listeners
both to Radio One programming and to a micro-website containing information
about HIV. Popular disc jockeys generated community conversations about HIV
on the air, including live interviews with local HIV/AIDS activists and
experts.
Website analytics show a sharp increase in visitors
after each live interview on Radio One.
